That area is essentially dead space... between the ramp on the left of the photo and to the right (out of frame) are the side entry steps to the building, not to mention a few grown trees. No pedestrian would walk that space next to the building, because the clear obvious walkway is in the foreground.
You would have a better argument on the York Street side because they generally park opposite and parallel to the one way direction which means they need to backout on the sidewalk by the exit ramp or do a Y Turn on a very narrow sidewalk to face the correct direction and exit via ramp. Sometimes they are USPS cars looking at the windshield placards. Either way, the real issue is that the USPS employee was being a real jerk to pedestrians and it might be more effective to speak with the Postmaster.

I have never had an issue with them parking on the sidewalk... they are generally pretty courteous stopping for pedestrians as the enter the loading dock area from Montgomery. Or moving cars from that sidewalk to Montgomery.
I have noticed over last week there have been a couple of large trucks pulled right up to the marked/painted crosswalk on Washington & York. Need to be careful walking out from behind them to cross because you won't be seen by speeding drivers on Washington Street. That will only get worse as the snow piles up. Parking the trucks has always been a problem in that area and I am sure there are some old threads about this issue. Sorry to hear you had a run with a jerk on the sidewalk.

The NJ State Police had three mounted troopers tonight at Exchange Place... have to admit my reluctance to see the JCPD unit reactivated, but the troopers and their horses were well received by the commuters with smiles and camera flashes.

I see lots of walkers (generally look to be with grand parents) No idea how the kids are selected to go to the school. Hopefully more efficient that voting precincts assignments.

Can't wait to hear Hillary's endorsement of Senator Bob. Especially after the bangup job she she did defending her husband against the 22 year old intern grown woman who abused her free access to the President and used her feminine Delilah like charms to seduce him in the Oval Office.

Have to call BS on your logic. You really believe that the democrats, or republicans for that matter, are honestly capable of doing anything to reprimand never mind impeach an "esteemed colleague"
Why do you think the known woman beating democrat first muslim congressman ellison from MN wants to send the charges to the House Ethics Committee to be reviewed

The quote in my original post was from the original article about confusion in the new vote by mail law. No idea what else you read into my witty observation that led you to believe that it was "all over the place".
All I did was cite a voter fraud risk (the same one your WaPo expert identified) that had no control if the counties intend to send out mail ballots in perpetuity. Of course no chance of that happening here in Hudson County
JSleeze wrote: I read it. The mistake I probably made was I perhaps drew the wrong conclusion from your all over the place and largely unrelated to the topic post. Maybe I misunderstood your "point". By "joking" (I'm guessing you were trying to be funny) that democrats were likely to be happy with perpetual write-in ballots you must be inferring that from historical patterns that relied on in-person vote fraud because, to my knowledge, there have been no legitimate studies or investigations into mail-in vote fraud such that a pattern could be established that a certain type of voter was more prone to commit write-in vote fraud. Because you would have needed to make that inference, you clearly believe in the 31 in a billion Santa Claus. And then, the cherry on this shit sundae was something you burped about immigration. Really not your finest work.

Apparently you did not read your own source.... note the comment about Mail-in-ballot fraud... exactly what I was commenting about.
"This sort of misdirection is pretty common, actually. Election fraud happens. But ID laws are not aimed at the fraud you?ll actually hear about. Most current ID laws (Wisconsin is a rare exception) aren?t designed to stop fraud with absentee ballots (indeed, laws requiring ID at the polls push more people into the absentee system, where there are plenty of real dangers). Or vote buying. Or coercion. Or fake registration forms. Or voting from the wrong address. Or ballot box stuffing by officials in on the scam. In the 243-page document that Mississippi State Sen. Chris McDaniel filed on Monday with evidence of allegedly illegal votes in the Mississippi Republican primary, there were no allegations of the kind of fraud that ID can stop." Quote:

I am always amused when non-Catholics try to dictate to Catholics changes in their doctrine or dogma that they say will improve the Church they do not attend. Particularly when it comes to Catholics dealing with the criminal activities within their own church. I liken it to democrats ?helping? republicans improve their image and become a better republican party.
I am not dismissing the right of anyone to publicly express an opinion or criticize any institution. At times I would love to sarcastically dismiss their opinions by saying ?You wouldn?t understand, it?s a Catholic thing? but I find the use of that colloquial phrase offensive to any rationally thinking person. Arresting and prosecuting these men is paramount? all the other steps to cleanse the Church is the responsibility of the Catholic laity because the clergy have failed us repeatedly. And all the clergy participating in the moral outrage need to go? especially those covering it up. The starting point is back to basics with the orthodox church doctrine? laity can have all the public discourse they want, but if they are ultimately not happy with the church, they need to consider leaving. This is the schism this scandal has created? and it ultimately comes down to one?s own conscience and relationship with God. All this coming from a ?lapsed Catholic?.

Not sure why so many people are sensitive about discussing grown gay man / teen boy sex seduction stories in the priesthood... Hollywood just celebrated this activity with last year's "Call Me By Your Name", nominating it with best picture, plus other minor awards. The irony was this film flying quietly below the radar while the fallout from Harvey "Winestain" sex assaults on young teen woman actresses was raging. A priest or research assistant? One person's grooming is another's sex assualt. The pool/bathing suit picture of McCarrick with his hand around the waist of his teenage boy victim was creepy. That was not a Pedo Thing. And it would have been just as creepy with a teenage girl.
