Re: Do not vaccinate your children!
Home away from home
Home away from home

I am not against anyone getting a vaccine, I am against the government forcing people getting the vaccine. Nurses worked during the covid incident last year. They caught the disease and have natural immunity. I am against hospitals firing them for not getting the vaccine.

When my children caught illness like the measles, I did not catch it because I already had that illness. Natural immunity works.

It is the hypocrisy, US citizens cannot fly without the vaccine but the border is open to people who are not tested and 20% of them have covid, they are placed all over this country.

It still does not change the fact that the American Medical Association changed it stance on HCQ. Here is another article.

You will probably dismiss this one too, because the issue is not truth, the issue is keeping the lie going to fit the agenda.

Your remark reminds of the hydroxychloroquine scare, the right people said it was no good. But after the election, medical journals said it did fight covid as long as it is given early with antibiotics and zinc. So we have to wait until the covid drama is over before the truth comes out.

Where is Solomon's plan to make sure affordable housing pay their fair share of taxes? If that is not included, Solomon's plan is to transfer affordable housing taxes on the backs of the small homeowner?

Re: Mayor Fulop: “Immigrants Are Part of Our Fabric”
Home away from home
Home away from home

Mayor Fulop acts as though citizens are unaware that immigrants are part of the US. The problem is there are 100 million more residents since 1990 and 50,000 more residents in JC since 2010. These new residents were not invited in, as in the past, they lack a high school education and those factory jobs that immigrants had in the past are now in China, so today's immigrants are now a tax burden.
As an example of this tax burden, Joe Biden asked Congress for $6.4 billion for the Afghanistan of around 125,000 residents. Many of which are not the translators that helped the US. There will be over 2 million coming through the southern border, this year alone.
Immigrants drive down wages but drive up tax bills and forces the cost of housing to rise.
One way the Democratic Party want to change this country is to import new residents who need services-via our tax dollars so they can vote Democratic on election day.

Then why is the Biden administration is allowing covid infected people into the US at the border and why are they exempt from the vaccine?

Re: The Sidewalk SeeClickFix Couldn’t Fix: A Personal History

Looking at the picture tells you what is wrong- the planting of trees that destroy sidewalks. I have for years complained about this. JC should place trees in planters. I spoke to a surgeon who told me, an untold number of old people are placed in nursing homes each year from falls from broken sidewalks, the majority being sidewalks being pushed up by trees. Another problem that I have experience is the roots of trees growing into the water and sewerage system. It causes backups. Once I had my tree removed, that problem went away.

The subsidies individual homeowners give affordable housing and rent control should be listed on tax bills. It is only affordable because someone else pays the taxes.

Re: Jersey City Council to vote on measure opposing proposed fossil fuel power plant in Newark

So what role did fossil fuel played in the wiping out of Hog Island in NY during the 1890s? People are living on land that floods, case in point, Fulop and the city council passed an ordinance that will allow homes on Bayfront, which has a history of flooding without major hurricanes. It is below sea levels. I remember reading a story years ago when native people where telling settlers where not to settle because the area floods. well, the settlers started communities there and yes, those places flood.

Re: Fulop announces proposed JC $620 million budget with nearly $1K relief for homeowners
Home away from home
Home away from home

This year, there is money for homeowners to address the increase in the school budget but what about next year? The school budget was in the $600 million range not too long ago, it is now $814 million. All candidates talk about affordable housing, they are basically saying more housing will be exempt from school taxes while the small homeowners gets hit on the head with increases. That also includes rent control that this council pushed which included 2 to 4 family buildings, non-owner occupied. Solomon pushed this which is more taxes for Ward E.

Re: Jersey City Councilmen Solomon, Lavarro call for refund and repeal of MUA’s waste disposal fees
Home away from home

Solomon should repeal of the 2 to 4 family buildings under rent control not owner occupied, something he advocated and pushed as councilman. So if you live in an one to 4 family building owner occupied, you can get a tax increase but the increase is not given to tenants living in non-owner occupied housing in 2 to 4 housing units. Since the budget had $77 million to use for rent due to covid from the feds, there was no reason for this. But condo owners, and owner occupied housing gets all of the tax increase. Rent control is governed by the Consumer Price Index similar to Social Security and has nothing to do with tax increases. Solomon pretends he cares about people but he does not.

Re: Editorial: Residents Deserve Answers on the Mayor’s New Home Purchase
Home away from home
Home away from home

Let me explain why neighborhood leaders come down to JC council meetings and complain- these new developments still have units with owners that have cars and these owners park their cars on the street, taking away parking from long term owners who live in homes built without parking. It makes the situation worse. If you don't want a car, that is fine but don't make judgments on people that need cars for their work.

Re: Editorial: Residents Deserve Answers on the Mayor’s New Home Purchase
Home away from home

On a personal level, I wish the mayor and his family the very best. But here is the problem, before Fulop ran for Ward E, all new construction required one to one parking. When he won, he changed that for Ward E. When he won as mayor, he changed that policy for the city. Yet neighborhoods leaders have periodically spoken at council meetings complaining about the reduction of parking which creates problems for long term residents. Typically a project with 40 units will have 16 parking spaces. I am sure Fulop's new place with 4 car garage was the major reason for the purchase. What is good for the mayor and his family should also be good for Jersey City neighborhoods. Build garages in neighborhood and require new construction to have one to one parking.

So, it was 100 out of 25,000 employees,a nd only three nurses.

Sounds like a good ratio and the ones that got fired are not a loss. Fuck em.

They, like you morons, are the ones keeping the dangers of the pandemic going. Almost all ICU admissions and deaths are among the unvaccinated, and even doctors and nurses want to triage out unvaccinated people to treat ones who are not a danger to them.

That is just one article, I have seen other stories of hospitals threatening to fire their hospital stall where half of them do not want the vaccine because they caught covid. The vaccine is a gene therapy and they know this. https://www.swfinstitute.org/news/8394 ... kap0l0oqf1yHFUkW9ePvzUzs0

A lot of people already had covid like doctors and nurses and do not want the shot. The medical field is the lowest rate in getting the vaccine. They already have the anti-bodies in their blood. There is no common sense, let people decide. If someone has smallpox, why give them the smallpox shot?

I saw on the news the number given to Texas and Florida are not valid. Florida's numbers are one third higher and Texas's numbers on children include numbers from the beginning of the pandemic. Politics should be removed from data and the public should just be given the facts. Of course covid is increasing, a high percentage of the immigrants crossing the border has the delta variant and probably other variants will also pop up down the road.

Re: Op Ed: City’s Affordable Housing Policies Aren’t Nearly Enough
Home away from home
Home away from home

Affordable housing has become a political scam. First, the city places people in affordable housing that are not JC residents since they take federal dollars and NGOs gets first shot at housing not JC residents. Secondly, it is done by transferring those taxes to the small homeowner, especially school taxes. Lastly, no one ever looks at the total amount of income affordable housing brings in. A senior living in an one bedroom affordable housing pays one third of their income, which might be Social Security. So if they get $1,200 they pay $400 including utilities, but that apartment actually earns $2200 a month to the developer/manager. So the $1,800 is not considered when the city does it tax abatement plan, only what the tenants pays.

By the way, when Newport made their deal with the city for affordable housing, LeFrak put his ad for housing in the New York Post, not the Jersey Journal and New Yorkers came over for those cheap housing.
