A 21-year-old Jersey City woman was arrested after allegedly stabbing and slashing four women - including two pregnant twin sisters - during a fight early yesterday, police said.

Shantel L. McMullen, of Arlington Avenue, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, reports said.

Police called to a location on Arlington Avenue near Cateret Avenue at 12:56 a.m. saw McMullen fighting with two women, ages 23 and 24, on the sidewalk, reports said.

When McMullen spotted the officers, she threw a long-bladed knife into the foliage in front of the building, reports said.

Police recovered the knife and restrained McMullen, reports said. The 23-year-old victim was bleeding from three stabs wounds in her upper left arm, while the 24-year-old was stabbed twice in her left arm, reports said.

A pair of pregnant 22-year-old sisters told police McMullen also stabbed them, one in her forehead, police said.

The four victims were treated at Jersey City Medical Center for non-life threatening wounds, police said.

McMullen was charged with the stabbings and treated by medical technicians at the police station for a minor cut, police said.

Reports do not indicate why the women were fighting.
