Roman said fire officials suspect the garage was being used as an illegal apartment. "Fire Prevention will take over the investigation and determine any violations," Roman said. The damage was described as moderate and only affected items inside the garage. The building was intact, reports said. Engine Company 19 Firefighter Julio Ortiz was treated for a minor abrasion on an elbow. A civilian was also treated for minor burns, reports said.
