View Larger Map Jersey City collision for two motorcyclists riding together sends both to hospital with broken bones, police say Tuesday, July 06, 2010 Two motorcycle riders suffered broken bones when their Harley-Davidson bikes collided on Communipaw Avenue in Jersey City Sunday evening. The accident happened near Route 1&9 at 5:47 p.m. According to police, a 47-year-old Belleville man was riding alongside a 38-year-old Pompton Plains man when the Belleville resident ran into the back of the Pompton Plains man's motorcycle. The older man fell to the ground and his riding partner lost control of his motorcycle and hit a fire hydrant before coming to a stop in the Shell Gas Station. The 47-year-old fractured his upper right arm when he fell off his motorcycle and the 38-year-old broke his lower right leg when he hit the fire hydrant, according to police. Both men were taken to Jersey City Medical Center for treatment. MELISSA HAYES
