View Larger Map Police cruiser involved in crash Saturday, June 20, 2009 By MICHAELANGELO CONTE JOURNAL STAFF WRITER A Jersey City police officer responding on a call with lights on and his siren activated was involved in a collision that sent him and the other driver to area hospitals yesterday morning, authorities said. Officer Marc L. Gigante, 33, of Jersey City, said that at 7:40 a.m. he was heading north on Baldwin Avenue in a police cruiser and came to a stop as he approached Academy Street, reports said. Gigante said he then proceeded and the 2007 Honda driven by Patricia D. Moscoso, 51, of Bayonne, slammed into the front of his police car, reports said. Moscoso said she was heading west on Academy and she didn't see the patrol car, reports said. Gigante was taken to Christ Hospital complaining of neck pain and Moscoso was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center complaining of chest pain, reports said.
