Jersey City Alzheimer's patient missing after visiting wife at hospital

Eusebio Alicea, 74, of Jersey City, who suffers from Alzheimer's disease, has been missing since yesterday.

Jersey City police are seeking the public's help to find a city man who suffers from Alzheimer's disease and went missing yesterday afternoon after visiting his wife at a local hospital.

Eusebio Alicea, 74, was taken to Christ Hospital on Palisade Avenue by his daughter at 2:15 p.m. They and other family members visited with the wife for a while and when the daughter returned at about 5:30 p.m. he was gone, police said.

Alicea's wife cannot communicate due to her illness, police said, adding that hospital officials are reviewing security video.

Alicea is described as 5 feet tall and 160 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.

It is believed that he is not carrying identification, police said.

He was last seen wearing a blue baseball cap with a rooster logo on the front, a black short-sleeved shirt, brown slacks and black shoes, police said.

He has black beauty marks on both arms.

Alicea has been diagnosed as being in the early stages of Alzheimer's disease, police said.
