A Jersey City man was hospitalized after being stabbed four times Wednesday night in a robbery outside a Greenville liquor store that netted the thieves $30, officials said.

The 23-year-old Fairview Avenue man told police he saw a group of men standing outside the liquor store on Martin Luther King Drive at Forrest Street when he entered at about 10 p.m., officials said.

As soon as he left the store, he was attacked, reports said.

When he raised his left arm to defend himself he was stabbed in the upper forearm and wrist, and when he tried to punch his attacker with his right hand, he was stabbed in that arm too, reports said.

The man with the knife took $30, the victim's identification and his cell phone before running away, reports said.

The victim was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center to be treated for wounds he is expected to recover from, reports said.
