A 6-year-old Jersey City boy was hospitalized with a minor burn after he was electrocuted by exposed wires at Audubon Park Wednesday evening, police reports said.

The boy was playing in the southeast corner of the park, at Bergen Avenue and Stegman Street, around 6:40 p.m. when he tried to pick up what he thought was a stick and was electrocuted, reports said.

Cops and firefighters observed two black wires sticking out of the ground and notified PSE&G to fix the wires, reports said.

The boy was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center and for a minor burn on his right forearm, reports said.
