I am a Glenwood Avenue resident and have lived there for over 20 years. Last Thursday at approximately 9:30pm I was mugged and physically assaulted for my purse. The mugger was in his car and exited his car in order to rob me. Since I have lived on this block for over 20 years, I have a sense of my neighborhood and surroundings. Prior to this incident, I have considered Glenwood Avenue a safe place to live since the college is there and college security has always patrolled this area. I still continue to have high regards for the college security. The police are continuing
the investigation and I am hoping that they catch the perpetrator.

I would like to warn Jersey City residents that a mugging took place in this neighborhood. Please be aware of your surroundings when walking at night. I also would like anyone who happened to witness this incident or may have information regarding this incident to please contact the police at 201-547-5450 and speak to Detective Shahid.
