Yet the August 25, 2020 special council meeting 740 people sent a petition to the city council on "defunding the police." Not all lived in JC but many do.

Authorities have charged two men in the May 21 mass shooting in Bergen Hill. The shooting, which took place on the corner of Crescent Avenue and Brinkerhoff Street, across from Lincoln High School, left two men dead and four other people injured.
