been helping a parent as well. here's what i've found so far:
1) city resources: https://www.cityofjerseycity.com/community/seniorresources and https://www.cityofjerseycity.com/CityHall/affordable_housing county resources: http://www.hudsoncountynj.org/about-office-on-aging/ Call them and make them help you 2) ask her primary care dr for referrals/suggestions; also ask them for transportation options. the hospitals have transit vans for dr appointments. 3) try aplaceformom.com which refers to private pay senior centers but some take medicare/medicaid. medicare part b should pay for up to 100 days at most nursing homes such as Alaris on Hamilton Park.

Hi! Looking for senior housing for our mom, preferably downtown/walk to shops, etc. She's low income. Any ideas of how to get started or where to look?
