Jersey City to appoint new DPW director

A Jersey City man whose last job was reviewing solid waste projects at the Hudson County Improvement Authority is the mayor's choice to head Jersey City's Department of Public Works.

The city announced today that Patrick Stamato will replace Mark Redfield, who retired in September after working for the city for 36 years. Greg Kierce, the head of the city Office of Emergency Management, oversaw the DPW on an interim basis after Redfield's departure.
