Nimbus Dance Works Awarded $30,000 Grant from Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation
The general operating grant to Nimbus supports its professional dance performances, arts education programs, and community engagement. It was among $3.3 million in grants recently awarded by the Foundation in the first of three grantmaking rounds supporting arts, education, environment and informed communities nonprofit organizations dedicated to building stronger communities in New Jersey. Chris Daggett, CEO of the Dodge Foundation writes: "Nimbus in so many ways is an exemplar for arts organizations that have deep commitment not only to their disciplines, but to their roles in community and service to youth. We look forward to an exciting year ahead, and the opportunities for Nimbus to lead in Jersey City and the state of New Jersey." ?For eleven years we?ve been dedicated to a vision for impacting the life of the community through dance. In a local arts funding climate where New York organizations receive the bulk of foundation funding, private contributions, and ticket sale income, it is gratifying to have the support of the Dodge Foundation who remain committed to cultural and environmental welfare of New Jersey communities.? said Samuel Pott, Nimbus Dance Work?s artistic director. ?This significant grant supports our continued work in providing dance programs for local youth who lack access to high quality dance training, as well as the work of our exceptional professional company as we develop our national reputation for excellence and ingenuity in performance.? Nimbus graciously thanks the Geraldine R. Dodge Foundation for their support.
