True, but there are a lot of small shops on Central Avenue, and the Stop & Shop is right across the street - it's busy most anytime of day, so it would be easy to slip out and act like another shopper if no-one is chasing you.

A masked robber flashed a handgun, tied up a store owner and made off with $20,000 in jewelry in a daring daytime robbery on a busy Jersey City street Monday, authorities said. The owner of CV Jewelry on Central Avenue near Manhattan Avenue told police that just before 1 p.m., a man entered the small shop, put on a mask and brandished a gun before ordering him to a back room. The robber, a man described as in his 30s, then bound the 47-year-old store owner's hands and feet with duct tape, police said. The gun-toting thief went to the front of shop and grabbed thousands of dollars in jewelry from the showcases, police said. Story
