Black Maria Film and Video Festival gets underway at NJCU Feb. 5

JERSEY CITY -- The 34th annual Black Maria Film and Video Festival gets underway at New Jersey City University Thursday.

The festival begins at 8 p.m. in Room 202 at Hepburn Hall, 2039 Kennedy Blvd.

The premiere will features screenings of the four Stellar Award winners from the juried competition.

On Friday, Feb. 5, the festival continues at the Hoboken Historical Museum, 1301 Hudson St., where the award winning documentary "Yakona" will be shown along with several documentary shorts. Tickets for that screeining are $10.

On Saturday, Feb 7, a program at Art House Productions at 136 Magnolia Ave., Jersey City, will begin at 8 p.m. and feature award winning short films. Advance tickets are $10 and available at arthouseproductions.org. Tickets at the door are $12.
