 Patrick McGovern | The Jersey Journal Jersey City will hire 15 new police officers thanks to a grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. The city received a COPS (Community Oriented Policing Services) grant from the Department of Justice in the amount of $1.875 million, Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop and Public Safety Director James Shea announced this morning.
