An early morning accident and downed pole on Grand Street in Jersey City is blocking traffic in both directions between Woodward Street and Johnston Avenue, according to 511nj.org, a website that monitors traffic. According to freelance photographer Joe Shine, who was at the scene of the accident, said the driver of a Toyota lost control and crashed into a pole with a transformer at 1:24 a.m. this morning.
