A Jersey City man has been charged burglarizing a home after he was surprised by the return of the residents and then bit a man, gouged his eyes and then scratched a woman, authorities said.

Bail was set at $100,000 cash or bond when William Munoz, 54, appeared on the charges of robbery, aggravated assault and burglary in Central Judicial Processing court in Jersey City yesterday via video link from Hudson County jail in Kearny.

Munoz was inside a residence on the 300 block of Second Street Friday and bit a man ?on his right bicep and gouging (name omitted) eyes, causing injury,? the criminal complaint says.
