A man was found with fatal gunshot wounds in a three-story apartment building in Jersey City at around 2 this afternoon, according to neighbors living near the scene of the now-live homicide investigation.

Detectives, some wearing jackets with "Police Homicide" emblazoned on their backs, were milling outside of the Seidler Street as late as 4:30 p.m., in front of yellow caution tape cordoning off the entrance to the building.

Hudson County Prosecutor's Office spokesman Gene Rubino said that the HCPO had responded to the scene but that no further information was available.
