Question about a new home warranty.

I have a new home been living in it for 6 months or so. I've had a couple of leaks in the roof, nothing that is out of the ordinary they are typically around the vents and hood in the kitchen. My builder has been very responsive about re-flashing the leaks when they occur and all around I don't have any complaints as I know flat roofs can be a PIA. My question is should I put in a claim on my new home warranty for the leaks that I've had? if so does this reset the time limit for the roof warranty which is only 1 year? I read the booklet that was given to me at closing, but I can't really tell if putting in a claim makes any difference or if it extends the warranty coverage.

TIA
