Jersey City police arrested a man this morning who was allegedly shooting up heroin at Bayside Park, according to police reports.

A deputy chief was walking his dog on the west side of the park near Garfield and Van Nostrand avenues at 6:21 a.m. when he saw Todd Jefferson, 49, of Bayonne, injecting heroin with a hypodermic syringe, police reports state.


Jefferson told police that he had purchased the heroin on Woodlawn and Ocean avenues, police said.

Jefferson was placed under arrest and charged with possession of heroin and possession of a hypodermic syringe, police said.

The bags of heroin confiscated were stamped "The End."
