Endorsements ? Municipal Runoff Election ? June 11, 2013

At-Large Council ? Sean Connelly, Rolando Lavarro and Viola Richardson

Ward B Council ? Esther Wintner

Ward C Council ? Richard Boggiano

Ward D Council ? Michael Yun

Over the years that I have been involved in local issues, both as a community leader and candidate for local office, I have been fortunate to get to know many of our elected officials and other community leaders throughout the city.

In the upcoming runoff for municipal council seats, we have distinct choices before us and I believe you can make the right choices for Jersey City.

I ask that voters re-elect Viola Richardson and Rolando Lavarro to At-Large council positions. We need leaders on our city council who know and understand how local government works. They both bring institutional knowledge to effectively bridge the gap to our new city council and are staunch fighters for social justice.

I also ask voters to elect Richard Boggiano in Ward C and Michael Yun in Ward D to the city council. They are both long time advocates for their respective communities who have served day in and day out for years championing the needs of local residents.

----------------------------------------------------

Two more very good candidates have been added to the ballot in the Jersey City municipal runoff election on Tuesday, June 11th: Sean Connelly, At-Large and Esther Winter, Ward B.

Sean Connelly is a former corporate counsel for Jersey City and also understands how local government works. He gives representation to most of us who see government as a service provider and do not come from a governmental background.

Esther Wintner (Ward B) has been and will be an outspoken advocate for fiscal prudence and working to get government to deliver services back in return for taxes.

Based on my experience, I believe Sean and Esther along with my original recommendations are the best choices for city council to work with the new administration and move Jersey City in the right direction.
