I was wondering the same thing. It happened around 2 AM. I'm also on Sussex between VV/Warren. It sounded like some sort of alarm going off closer to Washington/Warren. Then, there were some sirens, and about 10 minutes later, all the noise stopped.

Anyone have any idea what those repetitive loud noises were in Paulus Hook last night?
They literally woke up my whole building ( Sussex b/w Van Vorst and Warren).
