Ron Zeitlinger/The Jersey Journal A woman was shot this afternoon and police have cordoned off a Jersey City street in their search for the shooter, police and a witness at the scene said. The shooting occurred in the Heights section of Jersey City and it is believed the woman is being treated at Christ Hospital, said Joe Shine, a freelance photographer with The Jersey Journal. The shooting occurred at about 3:30 this afternoon and police believed the gunman was hiding in a garage, Shine said. Police also have identified the gunman as a Hoboken man that is known to them. Details from Jersey City police on the shooting were not immediately available.
