Ten students at School 25 in Jersey City got a special visit from NY Giant Mathias Kiwanuka on Friday to discuss healthy breakfasts.

Kiwanuka, an outside linebacker, enjoyed a healthy breakfast of cheerios, milk and an apple and fielded tough questions like what his favorite breakfast was and what the hardest part about becoming a professional football player was.

Principal Diane Pistilli said the Kennedy Boulevard school is involved with the ?Fuel Up to Play 60? program which collaborates with the NFL and the National Dairy Council that encourages students to make everyday changes at school. Students are rewarded for their efforts with tickets to games or to get a visit from an NFL player.

?This is what makes the kids motivated to keep going with the program,? Pistilli said.

Pistilli added the school has student ambassadors for the program that become more involved and reach out to classmates in their own classrooms.

Kiwanuka reminded the students how important a healthy breakfast was, and to ?make sure your homework is done before going outside to practice.?

Chelsea Pujols, 10, one of the fifth graders, who?s favorite breakfast is waffles, said, ?If you don?t get a good breakfast, your brain doesn't get enough knowledge.?

One of her classmates, Naseem Ibrahim, 10, said he wants to be an Giants player when he grows up like Kiwanuka.

?A good breakfast gives you lots of energy for tests and classwork,? Naseem said.
