Jersey City man confesses to robbing 'elderly woman' after confronted with video of crime, cops say

After confronted with surveillance camera images of an attempted robbery on Kensington Avenue, a 45-year-old Jersey City man confessed he was the one who carried out the crime, according to police reports said.

The man added that he "felt bad for robbing the elderly lady," police report said. The victim is 68.

Derrick Odom, of Delaware Avenue, was charged on March 21 with burglary and robbery in connection to the March 15 robbery that occurred around 3:15 p.m. inside the lobby of a Kensington Avenue apartment building near West Side Avenue, police reports said.
