Jersey City man, 18, shot; rushed to Jersey City Medical Center

An 18-year-old Jersey City man was shot this morning on Lembeck Avenue in the Greenville section of Jersey City, according to police near the scene.

Police said that the man was shot once in the thigh and once in the buttocks. He was taken to the Jersey City Medical Center and his injuries are believed to be non-life threatening, police said.

Police are searching for three young suspects, who were seen fleeing from the area shortly after the incident, police said.

Police officers were canvassing the area, searching for surveillance cameras that may have caught the incident on tape, police said. The incident occurred at 10:54 a.m.

Police officials said the investigation is active and still ongoing, reports state.

Police initially gave the victim's age as 13, but then revised it to 18.
