Jersey City man arrested for robbery after foot chase with police

A Jersey City man caused a stir this afternoon near Journal Square after he tried to rob a man and then led police on a foot chase near Hudson County Community College.

Booker D. Terry, 19, of Clendenny Ave. in Jersey City, was arrested near the Hudson County Community College Culinary Arts building on Newkirk Street around 1:30 p.m., police said.

Minutes earlier, Terry walked up to a Jersey City man asking for change for a $20 near a bank on Bergen Avenue. When the victim said he didn't have any money, police said Terry gestured toward his waistband as if he had a gun and told the victim "give me your money."
