A 27-year-old Bordentown man died roughly an hour after collapsing in a Downtown Jersey City bar early this morning, police reports said.
Police said there was no indication of foul play and the Prosecutor's Office said a pending autopsy report by the Regional Medical Examiner's Office will reveal the cause and manner of death.

Police were called to the emergency room at the Jersey City Medical Center where they were told by a police detective assigned to the hospital that a man had died after drinking at a bar, reports said.

Matthew Blanchard, of Bayberry Drive in Bordentown, had been "celebrating" with several friends at the Zeppelin Hall Restaurant & Biergarten on Liberty Drive when he suddenly collapsed, friends and witnesses told police.

An ambulance took Blanchard to the hospital at 12:13 a.m.

He never recovered consciousness and was pronounced dead at the hospital at 1:16 a.m., police reports said.

Blanchard's wife and mother were at the hospital when police responded to the death, reports said.

The family and management at Zeppelin's could not immediately be reached for comment.JJ
