I need to find a contractor familiar with the type of chimney we have in our DTJC condo which is a typical 4-story brick row house conversion. Each unit has its own boiler which vents into a shared aluminum chimney and said chimney appears to have been venting inadequately for quite some time (killing one boiler and threatening to kill another one with accumulated soot, etc.).

Can anyone recommend a knowledgeable chimney professional? I need someone who will do more than just clean the duct work. I am super concerned about carbon monoxide and need to make sure this is venting properly for the safety of all in the building.

Many thanks!!!

+1 for Jack Williams & Sons.

$125 for a full sweep, done quickly and cleanly.

plus they were very accommodating with their calendar when I had to re-schedule last minute.

they were clean, neat and on time. for clean and inspect fireplace and chimney - $250 (4 stories)

I believe most will recommend that the chimney be relined/lined along with chamber.

Thanks, Dan! Booked!

FYI, their new number is (973) 284-0867.

fake cockney accent a plus, but not required.

the last JClist post on this topic was a couple of years old, and pretty much only dealt with who NOT to use.

can anyone recommend someone reliable to do a basic cleaning of an original wood-burning fireplace and chimney?

thanks!
