Man, 19, shot twice in thigh

A 19-year-old Jersey City man was shot twice in his left thigh Saturday night after being followed by a group of people, police reports said.

Cops near the South Precinct heard three shots fired at 11:12 p.m., reports said.

As they were getting out of a patrol car at Bostwick and Bergen avenues, the 19-year-old ran up to them yelling, "I'm shot, I'm shot," reports said.

The man, who was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center for two gunshot wounds, told police he was walking with friends near Lexington Avenue and Kennedy Boulevard when five people started following them, reports said.

One person in the group pulled a gun and fired, he said.

Mob of 15 beats and robs teen

A 17-year-old Jersey City high school student said he lost a finger when he was beaten and robbed Friday night, reports said.

The boy told police he was walking home from a party on Claremont Avenue near Garfield Avenue and sending a text message around 11 p.m. when 15 boys jumped him and a friend, police reports said.

The victim, whose arm was in a cast when police interviewed him at his Grant Avenue home, said the gang struck him several times with a piece of wood, reports said.

A student at University Academy Charter School, the boy said he was robbed of his cellphone and did not know when his finger was detached, reports said, adding the victim's friend was not seriously injured.

Police searched the area where the victim said the attack took place and found blood-stained wood fragments and a 30-inch-long piece of wood leaning against a tree, reports said.

Cops: She stabs him with scissors

A 37-year-old Jersey City woman stabbed a man in the head and neck with a pair of scissors early yesterday following a dispute over money, according to police reports.

Thomasina Rivera, 37, of Sheffield Street was charged with assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, and unlawful possession of a weapon, reports said.

Called to Harrison Avenue off Kennedy Boulevard at 1:06 a.m., cops found a Duncan Avenue man bleeding from the head, reports said.

The man told cops that a woman he "might have" seen in the area walked up to him and asked "Where is my money?" reports said.

When he told her he didn't have her money, he said the woman pulled out a pair of scissors and stabbed him in the head and neck.

The Duncan Avenue man was treated at Jersey City Medical Center, reports said.

Rivera walked into the West District precinct and turned herself in after the incident, reports said.
