Jersey City man, 21, shot in buttocks and groin

A 21-year-old Jersey City man was in critical but stable condition after being shot in the buttocks and groin early Saturday morning, police said.

Police who had been called to the report of a large disorderly crowd heard five shots coming from the area of Martin Luther King Drive and Union Street at 12:31 a.m., reports said.

As they approached the intersection they were flagged down by the victim who was bleeding from the groin and left thigh, reports said.

The man said he was shot on Martin Luther King Drive between Oak and Union streets but refused to cooperate further, police said.

Police found two .45-caliber shell casings on the northeast corner of Oak Street and Martin Luther King Drive, reports said.
