A Jersey City man was sentenced to 30 years in prison with no chance of parole yesterday for being an accomplice in the murder of a Georgia man in 2012.

The mother of DaQuan Keaton, 27, of Parnell Street, became distraught, left the courtroom yelling and could be heard screaming from a bathroom during her son's sentencing in the murder of Lamar Glover. Glover was fatally shot in the head and hand at the corner of Randolph Avenue and Harmon Street on Aug. 25, 2012.

"I'd like to give my heart out to the Glover family," Keaton said before being sentenced by Hudson County Superior Court Judge Bernadette DeCastro. "I am maintaining my innocence. This is not the last time you'll see me in this court. As for my family, I love them, and I miss them."

By Charles Hack/The Jersey

A 23-year-old Georgia man was fatally shot Saturday afternoon at Randolph Avenue and Harmon Street in Jersey City, and a bystander was shot in the leg, officials said yesterday.

The dead man has been identified as Lamar A. Glover, 23, according to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Guy Gregory.

Glover was staying with people he knew on Grand Street, and a motive for the shooting has not been established, Gregory said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 4 p.m. and witnesses said they heard five to six gunshots.
