Six people were arrested and about $15,000 worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine was recovered at a Jersey City residence last week in the culmination of a three-month investigation, officials said today.
Following six alleged undercover purchases by a narcotics officer on March 14, about 80 grams of suspected methamphetamine was found at a Clifton Place residence by Jersey City police and officers of the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office's Narcotics Task Force, Hudson County Prosecutor Edward DeFazio said. Seven grams of suspected marijuana was also seized, the prosecutor said.
Inside the residence police arrested Erwin Molina, 38, of Virginia Avenue; Alfred J. Quila, 26, of Delaware Avenue; Lailanie Marasigan, 31, of Van Nostrand Avenue; Clifton Avenue residents Ruby G. Glavel, 50, and Eulalia "Baby Yoko" Harnett, 60; and Terry Benedict, 32, of Staten Island, DeFazio said.
All were charged with multiple drug offenses, including possession of crystal methamphetamine with intent to distribute in a quantity of one-half ounce or more, DeFazio said. The charge carries a possible sentence of up to 10 years in prison upon conviction and a fine of up to $150,000, the prosecutor said.
Bail for Benedict was set at $150,000 cash or bond, DeFazio said, adding that Molina's bail was set at $100,000 cash of bond and bails for Harnett, Quila, Marasigan and Glavel were set at $75,000 cash or bond each.
