Last night, the Jersey City Peace Movement and activists Adela Rohena, Esther Wintner, April Kuzas and Riaz Wahid held a candlelight vigil for three homeless people who recently died on Kennedy Boulevard. News photographer Richard J. McCormack was there to capture these images. Some of the participants at last night's vigil in Journal Square to remember three homeless people who recently died. The event, which started at 9 p.m., remembered Fred, Marico and Yvonne, all of whom died in the area. The Jersey City Asian Merchants' Association donated candles for the event. Recently, an unidentified man who appeared to be homeless fell roughly 20 feet to his death from a narrow ledge at the Journal Square Transportation Center.

Advocates Plan Candlelight Vigil for Three Homeless People Who?ve Recently Died Around Journal Square By Jon Whiten ? Jul 7th, 2011 ? Category: Blog, News The Jersey City Peace Movement and activists Adela Rohena, Esther Wintner, April Kuzas and Riaz Wahid have scheduled a candlelight vigil this weekend to mourn the recent loss of three homeless people in the Journal Square area. The deaths include two men and one woman known by the advocates, who do frequent outreach to the homeless population in the area. The vigil is slated for Saturday, July 9 at 9 pm near the fountain in Journal Square. The Jersey City Asian Merchants? Association is providing candles; all are welcome.
