I believe that's for catering. This has been my family's favorite restaurant for many years and we have had many parties in their back room. Kids always ate free when it was a catered event but never for regular dining. Hope that helps.

We saw it on the menu that you posted before going to the restaurant. We were charged for the kids' juices.

Before calling, I wanted to see what others have experienced.

They only thing I can think that they meant is that for on-premise catering, kids under 5 are free and ages 5-9 are half price.

We ate at Rita & Joe's tonight and the food was excellent. However, one of our deciding factor to eat there was that kids under 5 eat free according to the beverage section of their dinner menu. Yet, when the bill came the kids dinners totaled $16.00.
Anybody else have any experience with kid dining there?
We didn't question it while paying it because the service was good. However, I kept the receipt to check with others to see if we should question.

I would have questioned it after noticing it on the menu. Did you see it before or after you ordered the food ? Why don't you call the restaurant and see if it is still available. Maybe thay meant only the beverages.
