Hi - recently moved & need a few things done around my apartment, all smallish projects. Does anyone have a recommendation for a handyman that will work downtown? Thanks.

What should I expect to pay for a handyman per day?
Do you pay by the day or per job?

thank you in advance.

Can you show us some of your work? I need some patchwork repair on some holes that an electrician tore through my sheetrock looking for a wire. Patch and paint.

Hi, can anyone recommend a handyman that can re-grout a shower and kitchen tile (made of slate-like re-purposed chalkboard)?

Hi,

I'm looking for a reliable, reasonably priced handyman to help out with a few projects at my home in the heights. I have a scope of work and am ready to hire. There will certainly be more work/ongoing projects in the future, too.

I'd love to get recommendations on this thread or inboxed to me.

Any questions, please ask. Thanks!

We have some items around the house that we want to fix, things like new AC vent cover, light-switch covers over tile, tile removal and installation for small area in bathroom, removal/reinstall door step in bathroom basement, etc.

We've worked with Basil McGregor, but these are too small of a job for him. Any other new/recent recos?

These guys are great. Located in Manhattan so it may not be worth it for super small job, but otherwise highly recommended.

Small, but challenging curtain-hanging job. The problem is that the double window where the curtains need to be hung is at the staircase of the apartment, so a ladder needs to be set up on the staircase in order to be able to hang the curtains.

Is there anyone out ther who will accept the challenge?

Call Alice at 914-548-9085. Thank you.

I couldn't disagree more with people's take on Basil McGregor. He showed up to price out some jobs and then was never heard from again. He told me time after time that he would be sending me quotes.... Nothing. Oh well.

Does anyone know a handyman that likes to do small jobs? I have two small plumbing jobs and another small project I really need someone to take care of pretty soon. Additionally, I manage my building and kind of need someone I can call when I'm in a pinch... Thanks!

Hi,

Newbie here, about to close a condo next week in the A building (Jersey City).

Condo is in a great shape but I want to repaint the walls, polish the hardwood floors and take care of some minor stuff (fix door handle etc).

Unfortunately, I have a tight window: between Feb 23 and 25.

Any recommendation for a reputed contractor please?

(I saw another thread that recommended Basil but he's not in town next week.)

Thanks!

In case anyone is looking to do some apartment renovations, Basil McGregor just redid our kitchen - ceiling, cabinets, countertop, sink, and painting. He also added a sky light in the living room and put up a glass shower door in the bathroom.

http://www.basilmcgregor.com/

All the work took about two weeks, it was very reasonable, looks great, and it was a pleasure working with him.

Highly recommend!

I'd second the recommendation for Basil. I used him for some renovations on a rental property in the heights and he did a great job at a very reasonable rate.

Can anyone recommend me a reasonably priced handy man? I have to fix some shelves on a wall. I was out for a bit and my handy man has moved. I am looking for someone reliable because I occasionally have small tasks to be done.
