We have a fire pit and a chiminea in our backyard and last I checked, they're legal. I think they can't be placed too close to your home/building, but other than that, you're good. Our fire pit uses propane and the chiminea, well, it helps burn all the branches that fall from the huge tree in our yard! Very much worth it.

I've seen a few of these in the backyards around JC and my neighbor has a chiminea. I'm not sure if there are any codes, but I can't see how it would be any different than having a bbq grill (as long as it's not on your fire escape).

Does anyone know what the code is for JC... im talking about those fire type bowls they sell at Target or Kmart for the backyard, are those legal in JC? I would assume yes because it has some type of cover that goes over it.
