Two men were pursued, but only one was caught after a wild chase

By The Jersey Journal
October 29, 2009, 8:49AM

In today's Jersey Journal, Hoboken resident Larry L. Miller led police on a chase through railroad property and a stream before finally being arrested behind Dickinson High School after 11 p.m. on charges including resisting arrest, burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools, reports said.

Responding to a call saying that loud noises were coming out of a neighbors van, Miller was one of two men that police found inside of a van parked by Eighth and Brunswick Streets, reports said. The police chased both men, but the one man got away.

Inside the van police found burglary tools, and the vehicle's ignition was damaged.

Pursuit ends in burglary arrest

Thursday, October 29, 2009

A Hoboken man led Jersey City police on a wild chase through rocky railroad property and through a stream before he was arrested on burglary charges Tuesday night, officials said.

Larry L. Miller, 30, of Jackson Street, was finally arrested behind Dickinson High School at about 11:04 p.m. on charges including resisting arrest, burglary, theft and possession of burglary tools, reports said.

Responding to Eighth and Brunswick streets after getting a call from a resident saying he heard loud banging noises coming from a neighbor's van, police saw two men inside the vehicle who immediately jumped out of the van and started running when they eyed the cops, reports said.

Police chased them on foot through Hamilton Park and then onto railroad property behind Dickinson High School, reports said.

Miller was caught after running through a rocky area and across a stream but the other man got away, reports said. Inside the van police found burglary tools, and the vehicle's ignition was damaged.
