Bike rider shot in leg

A 19-year-old man was found on the ground bleeding on Van Horne Street near Curry Drive in Jersey City on Thursday, police said.

The man told cops he was riding his bike at about 9:20 p.m. when he was shot in the right leg by a man with a small silver handgun, police reports said, adding that the shooter was wearing a green army jacket and blue jeans.

Residents at three homes on the block told cops that they heard one gunshot, police said. Cops said they searched the area for bullet shells, but found none. The victim was treated at the Jersey City Medical Center and his injuries were not life-threatening, police said.
