Yes, there is a parking lot but how long will that last? There were tons of garages on Bright Street before they became condos. But it also means low income citizens will not be able to attend meetings. It will be based on your ability to pay. That is not the roll of government, it should be accessible to all.

How about the parking garage at Grove Pointe, which is 2 blocks away? The government needs to provide you free parking? Should they also reimburse those that take mass transit to City Hall?
If they can afford all the payments that go along with owning a car, they can pay a parking garage.

City ordinance 16.044 extends parking permit to 11:00 PM, it is basically cover Paulus Hook but it does borders City Hall. Here is the problem. The mayor wants to take the parking lot and develop it, so where do citizens park when they go to City Hall? No one wants a ticket. If you cannot find parking in front of City Hall you will park in these areas. This city is becoming an anti-citizen government. Either the city creates a garage for the public or they defeat this ordinance.

there's a parking lot across the street 100 yards away.

Pretty toothless ordinance. The police commander for the district has already stated that parking enforcement is a distant priority based on more pressing matters, like serious crimes. They will not enforce parking regulations unless it is something like a car brazenly blocking sidewalks or crosswalks, and then only when someone calls it in and if the available resources allow for them to do it.

If City Hall is serious about parking enforcement, then they need to figure out a way to get it done. Passing additional ordinances will do nothing unless they have enforcement. Hire more parking enforcement personnel or drop the pretenses.

It's all a conspiracy against you Yvonne because the Mayor knows you won't take public transit and if you can't park your car in the city hall lot, you won't make your usual speeches at the city.

Just joshing, Yvonne. I hope you can take an innocent joke.

Probably not. lol

It is about protecting access for the public, I personally don't care about your jokes. But there are planning boards meetings, council meetings, board of adjustments meetings. Don't harm public access to meetings.
