It was the city brand for a long time. Sorry, Healy was right on this. If Fulop spends tax dollars on appealing other people's taxes, he could have spend money to protect the city's brand. During an emergency everyone know to turn to Channel 1, now that does not exists.

Enough already, you will twist, deflect & convolute anything that does not fit into the world according to Yvonne, especially when it comes to this administration. People are not as misinformed or uninformed as you would want to believe & I am sure that for every one person you find who did not know, there are three that do & many more who do not have Comcast or Fios. Of course this is an arbitrary number I have thrown out as a for instance. I, for one, have never seen Channel 1 as I have neither Comcast nor Fios nor do I see any change in my viewing preferences in the foreseeable future. Please, the sky is not falling because Channel 1 is now Channel 96.

Yeah Blame Fulop for this too.
Who turns on their tv and puts in on channel 1 in an emergency, you are stuck in the past?

I was surprised to see JCTV 1 no longer exists, there was a public hearing on this 3 years ago, then former Mayor Healy said he wanted Comcast to continue to give JC Channel 1. Channel 1 has been JC station for about 25 years, why is the administration silent? Here is the Dec. 11, 2012 meeting with an updated message:

I am pretty sure I saw an announcement that JCTV moved to Comcast Channel 96 in early December.

Just guessing, but it could be a result of Comcast essentially dying in Jersey City. Verizon has essentially beaten them out of the city. Why maintain a channel on a cable provider that nobody has?
