Looks so from this press release http://www.jcedc.org/new/jj082604.html quote: Three of the city's colleges - Hudson County Community College, New Jersey City University and Saint Peter's College - all have ambitious expansion plans in the works. The University of Phoenix, a for-profit school that spent years lobbying the state to license it to offer degrees on a waterfront campus, has also opened a campus in the Newport section. And now, Rutgers University is planning to open its doors in Jersey City. The state university's business school will open a satellite campus at Harborside Financial Center at Exchange Place this fall

NJCU Readies Waterfront Location; Graduate Business Courses to Be Offered in January 2007; Open House on November 29
New Jersey City University will make graduate business education more accessible to working professionals on the Jersey City waterfront beginning in January 2007 by offering business courses in the City?s financial district. Initial offerings will be graduate-level courses in business, which can lead to master of science degrees in finance or accounting. The University is establishing an off-campus site on the waterfront in the Harborside Financial Center at 286 Washington Street, second floor. NJCU?s College of Professional Studies will host an Open House on Wednesday, November 29, 5:00 ? 7:00 p.m., at the Harborside Financial Center location. Faculty and staff of NJCU?s Department of Business Administration will be present at Open House to meet with prospective students. For additional information call 201-200-3321. Courses will be offered in three financial specializations: Professional Financial Planning, Financial Analysis and Portfolio Management, and Financial Management. These specializations will prepare individuals to sit for the respective national and international certification examinations. The courses will also satisfy requirements for the master?s degree in finance. ?The Jersey City waterfront is a bustling area of our city where hundreds of busy working professionals will have easy access to NJCU?s outstanding graduate-level accounting and finance courses right at the Harborside Financial Center,? said Dr. Carlos Hernandez, NJCU president. Dr. Hernandez noted, ?The fact that NJCU will offer courses in the heart of Jersey City?s financial district makes enrolling in class much more convenient for those who are stretched for time, but eager for personal enrichment and career advancement.? Joanne Z. Bruno, Esq. interim vice president for academic affairs said, ?Faculty from NJCU?s Department of Business Administration will teach the courses at the waterfront location, which will feature two classrooms, a seminar room, a computer lab/trading room, a faculty office, and a reception area. Dr. Sandra Bloomberg, dean of professional studies, is the main contact for the off-campus offerings.? Dr. Richard Hendrix, dean of graduate studies and continuing education, anticipates that in addition to business offerings, courses for advanced professionals will be offered in education. He hopes that eventually liberal arts enrichment courses as well as continuing education classes will be offered at the Harborside location. The waterfront location will be situated in a new commercial building at the corner of Washington Avenue and Christopher Columbus Drive, just steps away from the Light Rail, Exchange Place PATH station, buses, and ferries. A parking garage located in the building will offer special rates to NJCU students. It is estimated that 50 major corporations and businesses on the waterfront today employ approximately 50,000 persons in the fields of banking, securities, insurance, and real estate. In addition, almost 30,000 residents are located in the waterfront area.
