Curious when Bertolli became "former" ... the word is in the headline and in the first paragraph but nowhere in the article that discusses the long relationship with the Mayor, does ist explain when/how the relationship ended? And the mayor's spokeperson had no comment.

Political operative Tom Bertoli, a former ally of Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, has been hit with federal tax evasion charges, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Craig Carpenito announced Wednesday. Bertoli is facing two counts of tax evasion and one count each of corrupt interference with the administration of IRS laws and failure to file a tax return. According to the U.S. Attorney?s office, Bertoli failed to pay taxes between 2009 and 2013 on hundreds of thousands of dollars earned for political consulting and expediting construction services.
