Jersey City cop who died of gunshot wound was boxing coach Updated 11:32 AM; Posted 11:13 By Caitlin Mota The Jersey Journal JERSEY CITY -- The off-duty police officer who died of a gunshot wound Sunday night was a youth boxing coach, sources said. Sources have identified the 33-year-old officer as Ramon Torres, who graduated from the academy last March. The Jersey Journal JERSEY CITY -- A city police officer died at Jersey City Medical Center tonight from a gunshot wound to his chest, sources say. The shooting occurred on Woodlawn Avenue sometime before 8 p.m., sources told The Jersey Journal. City officials could not immediately comment. The Hudson County Prosecutor's Office said it is investigating. More
