if this city really wants to thrive, it needs to seriously loosen up on some of these antiquated regulations that kill new businesses before they ever even get off the ground.

Anyone tasted their booze? I've seen their path ads.

A distillery that produces a one-of-a-kind gin has just opened in N.J.

JERSEY CITY -- Bob Hagemann aimed to open the first ever distillery in Hudson County on July 8.

The three-year obstacle course -- through local, state and federal approvals -- to open Corgi Spirits, a British-inspired distillery, hit one last roadblock down the final stretch over the summer when a logistical issue with the distillery's location arose, delaying the opening by nearly four months.

Hagemann, a Pompton Plains native, breathed a great sigh of relief over the weekend as Corgi Spirits officially opened their doors Saturday, welcoming guests to 1 Distillery Drive in Jersey City where they can tour the 10,000-square-foot facility (state law requires a tour to serve alcohol to patrons), enjoy cocktails and spirits in a "plush drinking parlour," and purchase the spirits and other bar necessities from a retail store.
