It looks like a palace revolt, as central and south NJ Democrats in the statehouse want to replace Prieto after the elections this fall. Beyond the logical assumption that Hudson County will lose some juice in Trenton, the likelier impact will be a reduction in adjustment aid for JC schools. A major driver of this coup is Prieto's refusal to allow education dollar reform and fairness for cities that are severely under aided.

And in true Hudson County fashion Prieto chops a loyal supporter who crossed the line.
