Yes, unfortunately it has closed. The last time I went by - about a month ago - they had stopped selling any food and had pretty much packed the place up. The owner didn't think he was going to reopen.....I was sorry to see it go.

Does anyone know if Alnooor on Westside Ave near Duncan is now permanently closed? I called today and the number was disconnected and I walked over to check, and the shutters were closed during normal business hours. This hole-in-the-wall middle eastern grocery/restaurant is (or was?) one of the great unsung food places in JC, with about the best grilled chicken anywhere, and very inexpensive to boot. It's been around at least 15 years. A few years back they moved one storefront over to a larger location -- the former Korean restaurant space -- but never really took advantage of the bigger digs.
