If you're looking for one stop shopping, 99 Ranch is probably your best bet along with a ton of great vegetables. If you're willing to break it up a bit, check out JC Fish Stand on Jersey Ave and Moloney's in Journal Square or Pampita Meat Shop on Central Ave in the Heights - both are worth the trip IMO.

Yes, they're still planning on it. They're aiming for an October opening but I think they're still in really early stages and there's a lot of work that has to happen in that space, so I don't think it will be that soon.

Yes, unfortunately it has closed. The last time I went by - about a month ago - they had stopped selling any food and had pretty much packed the place up. The owner didn't think he was going to reopen.....I was sorry to see it go.

You're the only person on here encouraging "political bs" by crying it at the simple mention of another country. Relax.

JC Eats- you run a great blog! I read it pretty regularly and think it's great resource for JC food stuffs.

Thank you, I really appreciate it and I'm glad it's useful!

Genuinely not trying to shill so I'm not going to post a link, but I have more info on this place on my blog if anyone wanted to know more - I think it comes up if you just google Vogue Cafe Jersey City.

To answer the questions I saw below, they are newly opened so hours aren't entirely set as they determine business flow, but basically what I got is from around 7:30-8am-around 6pm for now, every day.

Pricing was definitely a little bit high (tea wasn't too expensive but coffee was a little high), but I will say the pastries are huge. You're not going to get a two or three bite croissant and they are very good.
